GivingPoint was established for our corporations, families and individuals whose charitable interests span the globe, and to reconnect natives of the region, no matter where they live, with causes in their hometown.

Shannon Schweigert – Principal

Shannon Schweigert is a native of Zeeland, ND. He earned a B.A. in English and History/Political Science in 1989 from Jamestown College, Jamestown, ND. From 1990-96, Shannon served his alma mater in its admissions and development offices rising to the level of chief development officer in 1994. During that time, he increased alumni donor participation from 19% to 27%

From 1996 to 2003, he served as a registered investment advisor in the Fargo area, first at Foster Klima & Company and later at EideBailly Financial.

Shannon returned to Jamestown College to serve as vice president of institutional advancement and executive director of the school’s first-ever comprehensive capital campaign from 2003 – 2005. During his tenure, Jamestown College experienced two of its best fundraising years in school history. Under his leadership, $20 million was raised towards the campaign’s $34 million total.

Shannon joined Impact Foundation in 2005 as its vice president for development. At Impact, he coordinated the development of the Donor Impact Plan, a donor centric, values based, wealth transition planning process designed to create greater wealth transfer to a donor’s family and favorite nonprofits and less to government in the form of income and estate tax.

Shannon has more than 20 years of philanthropic and financial consulting experience and has worked with some of the region and nation’s most renowned philanthropy experts, all of which led to the founding of GivingPoint in 2007.

Shannon and his wife Holly have two children and live in Fargo.

Mark Dahlberg

Mark joined the GivingPoint team in 2011. A Moorhead native and son of an ordained pastor, he attended Concordia College and Augsburg College in MN. Mark began his career working with churches as a college intern with Central Lutheran in Minneapolis. Having established his own pipe organ firm in 1985, he produced several instruments for the region. He then accepted a position in Portland, OR for a leading pipe organ manufacturer, where in his tenure he advanced production techniques, mastered 3D CAD design, coordinated multi-million dollar church restorations and consulted on acoustical/liturgical designs for church projects in the Pacific Northwest. He returned to the Fargo/Moorhead area in 2000 and obtained a position as Project Designer for Curtis Construction Company in Fargo, ND which allowed him to expand his skills in working with the Faith Community.  Curtis Construction was a leader in the premier building of Churches in the region, for which Mark brought his experience in liturgical, music, worship and spatial design to assist congregations in their building needs for over 11 years.

Mark has brought his vast history of working with the Faith Community and knowledge of congregational needs to GivingPoint as the Director of GivingPoint.Faith. His understanding and extensive background provides the foundation for the opportunities provided under this division of GivingPoint.  Whether assisting congregations in comprehensive Project Development, Mission Development, Visioning or Fundraising, Mark—along with the GivingPoint team, can provide the expertise and partnership necessary for the growth and support of our Faith Communities.

Sheilia Horner

Sheilia Horner is a Napoleon, ND native.  After graduation, Sheilia ventured out to work on her skills in business administration and management.  Sheilia joined Rosenbluth International Travel Agency in 1992 as a travel service associate, working her way up to account manager.  Sheilia worked for Coldwell Banker Commercial in business administration.  She also worked for Quality Concrete and Northern Grain Equipment as office manager for both companies.

Sheilia has been in business administration for over eighteen years prior to joining GivingPoint in February, 2011 as the Office/Business Manager.

Sheilia and her husband Brian have three children and live in Fargo.

Lisa Jackson

Lisa Jackson focuses on fundraising and communication coaching.  She graduated from NDSU with a degree in mass communications and has worked in marketing with Newell Rubbermaid, annual giving and events for Jamestown College and major gift and gift planning or Kansas University Endowment.  Over the past three years, Lisa has used her diverse background to help develop GivingPoint fundraising consulting practices and launch Today’s Giving.

Today she is a proud mom to Hadley and married to Dustin.

Brad Kerr

Brad Kerr joined GivingPoint in April of 2011 as the director of GivingPoint.Athletics. A native of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Brad has spent the majority of his career involved with athletics. He began his career as a football, wrestling and track coach serving numerous high schools. He served as the head wrestling coach at the University of North Dakota, then moved on to athletic administration as the athletic director at Jamestown College.

Kerr is known for his innovative project insights and ability to rally booster organizations to successful outcomes. He applies coaching theory to fundraising and brings a team culture to development. Kerr and his wife Judy have two grown daughters, three granddaughters and live in East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

Brianna McAleer

Brianna J. McAleer, J.D., received her Bachelor of the Arts degree in Economics from The Colorado College. She recently received her Juris Doctor degree with distinction from the University of North Dakota, School of Law.  She served as Associate Editor for the North Dakota Law Review, President of the Public Interest Law Student Association and Site Coordinator for the Volunteer Tax Program. She has studied internationally at Jönköping International Business School in Sweden and Instituto Superior de Español in Ecuador.

Previously, Brianna served as Associate Director of Annual Giving at Jamestown College. She directed and oversaw several giving programs, managed the general fund and participated in the capital campaign. Brianna also served West Central Initiative Foundation as Donor Services Officer where she maintained and cultivated prospective donors to the unrestricted endowment fund while working with the members of the  60-plus component funds established by WCI.

Michael Overby

Michael Overby was born in Fargo, ND, but raised on a ranch outside of Tolna, ND.  He graduated from Tolna High School and soon after, received his BS in Social Sciences at UND.  After his time at UND Michael worked for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship assigned to Minnesota State University, Moorhead and U of M Morris.  After working for InterVarsity, utilizing his fund development experience he worked for Walsh and Associates as a Capital Campaign Consultant where he supervised campaigns for churches, schools and civic organizations helping them raise millions of dollars for their various initiatives.  In addition, Michael spent time as a Development Officer at MSUM.  Michael has four children and enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, hiking and camping as well as watching his children in their various athletic and artistic endeavors.  He also loves studying history and visiting museums and historical parks.
